  This role is responsible for producing high quality project design deliverables and construction documents. A Senior Design Architect can work on any/all phases of development including Pre-Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents and Construction Administration.

We are searching for an experienced Senior Architect to oversee the company's new construction projects. As a Senior Architect, you will mentor other Architects, interpret client briefs, and review contracts and designs. You should have strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of technology/software, and the ability to handle several projects simultaneously. 

To be successful as a Senior Architect, you should display great interpersonal skills and be able to relay important information. An outstanding Senior Architect should also be an advocate for continuous learning and process improvements. 

Responsibilities:   

• Create, review and distribute architectural designs, construction documents and specifications.
• Develop construction drawings and specifications that incorporate client, regulatory, and industry standards.
• Lead design development and participate in construction administration efforts.
• Coordinate project design intent with multiple consultants, regulatory agencies, and internal staff
• Meet with clients to assess needs and develop an associated project program.
• Manage the clients, project staff, and consultants through the project process on multiple complex projects.
• Manage and develop project documents as per client, regulatory, and industry standards.
• Create and foster relationships with keys clients while managing client expectations.
• Apply interpersonal communication skills to build strong working relationships, resolve conflicts, and motivate the project team.
• Mentor junior architectural staff and assist in professional development.
• Travel as required for client development and project execution.
• Perform field work as required for project execution (e.g. taking field dimensions, performing assessments during construction, etc.).

Skills + Qualifications

• A professional, accredited degree in Architecture is required
• 5 year professional degree and/or masters preferred 
• Professional registration preferred
• 5+ years’ experience
• Experience with educational projects and clients highly desired
• Expert knowledge in architectural software and programs. Revit knowledge is required. Sketch-Up, BlueBeam, Enscape knowledge preferred
• Strong communication skills required
• Demonstrated project management and staff leadership
• Strong work ethic, passion for architecture and a desire to learn
